An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and motivated Operations Manager to join a well-established business based in Thurles. With a strong commitment to sustainability, innovation, and operational excellence, the company provides recycling solutions and environmental services to customers across Ireland.
The Role: what does the job involve?
- Manage the daily operations of the recycling facility, ensuring efficiency, productivity, and compliance with all relevant regulations.
- Plan and coordinate daily collection routes for waste oil and oil filter collection drivers.
- Process collection orders and complete all associated documentation, including driver paperwork, waste transfer forms, sales invoices, and supplier records.
- Manage customer payments and actively follow up on overdue accounts.
- Supervise staff, ensuring work is completed safely and efficiently while maintaining a clean and compliant site.
- Organise outbound loads for non-ferrous metals and waste batteries.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety requirements, including staff training, driver certifications, and manual handling procedures.
- Coordinate maintenance schedules for plant, equipment, and machinery.
- Liaise with regulatory bodies and manage reporting requirements, including local authority submissions, environmental compliance reporting, waste management documentation, and annual regulatory returns.
- Prepare and analyse operational reports, KPIs, and performance metrics to drive continuous improvement.
The Candidate:
- Experience in an operations management, logistics, recycling, waste management, or environmental services role.
- Strong organisational and planning skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Experience supervising teams and driving operational performance.
- Knowledge of health, safety, and environmental compliance requirements.
- Excellent administrative, reporting, and documentation skills.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and operational management systems.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement.
